It is made in a distillery named after the city, from rice-based alcohol and using Japanese herbs such as yellow yuzu (a special citrus), Japanese cypress, green tea (gyokuro), hinoki wood chips, bamboo and sanso berry (Japanese pepper). The plants are divided into 6 groups (base, citrus, tea, spice, fruit & flower, herb) and evaporated separately with alcohol and then blend together. In addition to the classic juniper style, exotic citrus and spicy notes also appear in this gin.
