Gin Sul is a dry gin from Hamburg, but its roots can be traced back to Portugal. The manufacturer, Altona Spirit Manufacture, wants to dedicate this drink to show its love and appreciation for the beautiful country on the Southwestern tip of Europe.

Exclusive dry gin, which owes its high quality to the presence of the finest herbs, careful distillation and Mediterranean citrus. The lemons growing in the western Algarve is often as big as grapefruit, the skin is thicker than our thumb, and the taste of lemon brings back childhood memories. In addition to this key ingredient, juniper berries, coriander, rosemary, peppers, lavender, cinnamon and rock rose (Cistus Ladanifer) create the soul of Gin Sul.

In Markdorf near Lake Constance, Arnold Holstein produces it in a traditional copper still. It can only distill 100 liters at a time, which is a small amount compared to the average gin distillery. After distillation, the cold, clear and soft water of the Lüneburg Heath region in the south of Hamburg is used to dilute the distillate to an ABV of 43%.
