The old tom is a historical category that began the bohemian renaissance in the last decade and traditionally includes gins that are sweeter in taste, often with some added sugar. In the case of Hernö Old Tom, the basic recipe has been retained with minimal proportions and honey has been added, bringing the floral flavors of gin to the fore, with a greater emphasis on the cranberries used and the texture being much fuller and silkier.

The stylish, cleaned glass is embellished with a cat’s portrait, paying homage to the historical roots of the category, when even the illegal and hidden gin cellars, could only be found by looking for signs of a cat with a mischievous smile.

Hernö’s story began in 1999 when Jon Hillgren went to London with some of his friends to work as a bartender. He immediately fell in love with the gins. Deepening his knowledge, he finally opened his own distillery in 2011 in the village of Dala in Sweden, a place that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as unique natural treasures can be found here.
